All after school clubs are now open for registration! The link with all relevant information for signing up is as follows: https://www.powerstownet.com/after-school-clubs-4/
As I am running the art club again this term, I am going to take this chance to vouch for it! At Art Club, your child will have the opportunity to encounter the work of many different artists through creating their own work using a range of materials and techniques! Your child will complete a minimum of one piece of work per week in a friendly and fun atmosphere! There are only 20 places available so hurry if you want a space! Any money for Art Club can be given straight to me :)

The PTA and the pupils of Powerstown ETNS are delighted to announce that our annual School Art Exhibition will be on display in our hall this Friday, December 7th 2018!
The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Winter Fun’. The artwork will be beautifully finished, professionally framed and catalogued for display in the school. As well as a great artistic event we are using the exhibition as a fundraiser to help to reduce the cost of swimming lessons for all the families in the school. The pictures are great value at only €12 each, if you buy a second picture it will cost €10, if you buy a third it will cost €9.50. The framed print copies of the originals would make a lovely present, will be available to view on Wednesday December 5th and you can purchase them during the Winter Fair this Friday 7th December. We look forward to seeing everyone there but if you can’t make it & would like to have your child’s picture, send the money in before exhibition day and we will arrange delivery. Art is an area that every child enjoys and the exhibition will be a big social event in the life of the school this year, so please come along, (support our fundraiser) and admire the work of all our talented children! The PTA and student council are delighted to host our annual cake sale in the hall this Friday. We are asking our school community to support this event for the provision of skipping workshops for the children in the school. Skipping is an excellent way to promote fitness, increased hand, feet and eye coordination and it's lots of fun. We are looking for donations of cakes, buns, snacks and treats for the Cake Sale. We are also looking for parent volunteers to support setting up the hall and stalls from 11am on Friday!
Dress up day is also this Friday where children can wear a costume to school for the day! Weapons, or costume items that can be used as a weapon such as wands, broomsticks, etc, are not allowed. I can't wait to see all the crazy costumes that are in store! Hello Parents!
Following the huge success of 'The Jungle Book' in 2017, we are delighted to announce that PETNS will be staging 'Annie' as our musical this year! Although the show will not be until Term 3, auditions for lead roles in the musical will be taking place during school time on Friday October 19th. This is so we can get started on preparing songs and dances well in advance for rehearsals in Term 2. If your child is in 3rd to 6th Class, we would like you to encourage them to audition as it is a valuable and beneficial opportunity. With over 30 roles to cast, there is a great chance of your child getting a role! All children must be signed up to audition by Wednesday October 17th. Just follow the link below :) We can't wait to see all the talent we know and love from the pupils in our school! https://www.powerstownet.com/whole-school-musical-auditions/ Our theme for September was all about 'My Place' and where we come from. We decided it would be a nice idea to explore the city centre to see some of our country's most famous landmarks and we had a brilliant day! See a few pics below and a wonderful performance with Molly Malone herself!
